As MASTERY enters its final months, the project continues to share its results with international education communities. On 22 October 2026, Almudena Muñoz Puche, representing CETEM, presented findings from the Spanish pilots at the Fully Online Distance Education Symposium (FODES 2026).
Her presentation, “Testing Green Micro-Credentials in Practice: Evidence from Three Spanish Pilots in VET and Adult Education”, explored the implementation of green micro-credentials aligned with EQF levels 5–6 in different learning contexts.
Delivered by CETEM and AMUEBLA, the three pilot programmes involved 38 participants, including VET students, young learners and adults in reskilling programmes. They focused on cradle-to-cradle design, waste reduction in manufacturing, and circular, green and socially responsible procurement.
Drawing on assessment results, participant feedback, trainer observations and practical assignments, the presentation examined how the training worked in practice. The findings highlighted the contribution of blended learning, real-life case studies and evidence-based assessment to green competence development and learner motivation. These experiences offer practical insights for education and training providers seeking to introduce short, focused learning opportunities for the green transition.
Connecting with international perspectives on micro-credentials
Under the theme “Disrupting Online Learning Futures: Human-Centred Innovation in the Age of Intelligent Education”, FODES 2026 brings together academics, learning designers, instructional designers, e-learning specialists, online facilitators and higher education professionals.
The symposium provides a valuable space to exchange research, reflect on emerging practices and discuss how technology, pedagogy and human-centred design can support meaningful, ethical and sustainable online education.
Micro-credentials also featured in other contributions, including those from international experts such as Wonda D. Grobbelaar. This wider discussion provided an opportunity to connect MASTERY’s practical experience with international perspectives on flexible learning and certification.
Participation in FODES 2026 extends the visibility of MASTERY’s results beyond the consortium and its national networks. Sharing evidence and lessons from the pilots supports the wider uptake of the project’s approach and helps inform future green skills training in VET and adult education.
